Hockinson Wrestling Celebrates Senior Night with Dominant Wins Over Hudson’s Bay

On Wednesday, January 15, 2026, the Hockinson wrestling program hosted Hudson’s Bay for a special Senior Night that highlighted both past accomplishments and present success. Prior to competition, the Hawks proudly recognized seniors Teagan Trenda, Jacob Baker, Liam McKee, Owen Donowitz, Leniel Sutton, Ben Brown, and Payton Thompson for their dedication, leadership, and lasting impact on the program.

Following the ceremony, Hockinson wasted no time carrying that energy into competition, beginning with the girls varsity dual.

Girls Varsity Recap

The Hockinson girls put together a strong team effort, earning a 42–24 victory over Hudson’s Bay. Several Hawks earned victories by forfeit, as Hudson’s Bay was unable to field wrestlers in all weight classes, while others secured key wins by fall to build an early advantage. Senior Teagan Trenda earned a victory on her Senior Night, while Abigail Heuschkel added a pin at 155 pounds to help solidify the team win.

Boys Varsity Recap

The boys varsity squad followed with an emphatic performance of their own, defeating Hudson’s Bay 75–6. Hockinson controlled the dual from start to finish, collecting numerous wins by fall and bonus points throughout the lineup.

A major highlight of the night came at 144 pounds, where senior Liam McKee earned a victory by fall, officially securing his 100th career varsity win—a milestone that reflects years of consistency, hard work, and leadership.

The final match of the night delivered one of the most exciting moments, as Lucas White battled through a nail-biter at heavyweight. White tied the match at the end of the first period and trailed for much of the contest. In the final 15 seconds, he executed a strong escape, followed by a quick takedown and nearfall points, sealing a dramatic 15–9 decision.

Following the dual, the Hawks also celebrated additional wrestlers who have reached the 100 varsity win milestone, recognizing the dedication and perseverance required to achieve such an accomplishment.

Head Coach Brandon Redeau praised the team’s recent growth and commitment:

“I am extremely proud of this team and the way they continue to respond to challenges. Over the past few weeks, their determination and grit have really stood out. They are pushing themselves on the mat and holding each other accountable off the mat as well—through leadership work, extra training, and a constant effort to improve. Watching them commit to becoming better wrestlers and better teammates has been impressive.”

What’s Next

Hockinson wrestling now turns its focus to the Clark County Wrestling Tournament, hosted at Hudson’s Bay. Boys competition will begin Friday at 4:00 p.m., while the girls will compete on Saturday, with boys action resuming at 10:00 a.m. The Hawks look to carry their momentum forward and wish all competitors the best of luck.
